Jake grew up with horses, and has been hunting moose since the age of 12. He has over 30 years  of experience guiding in Manitoba, Alberta, B.C., the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. Jake’s wife, Cecilia, grew up hunting, fishing and camping with her family in the Northwest Territories. They started guiding together in a sheep camp, in the Yukon, back in 1997.

Together, Jake and Cecilia started outfitting in 2001 with an archery-only whitetail outfit in Manitoba. After several years, they decided to move on to different opportunities; Jake as an Environmental Scientist, and Cecilia as an Occupational Therapist. But it didn’t work – they could not get the outfitting bug out of their system. In 2011,  Jake and Cecilia decided it was time to get back to the life they love.

We started hunting for a remote wilderness guide-territory, with top-quality game. What we found was a virtually inaccessible area in the northern tip of the Rocky Mountains that consistently produces some of the best Moose and Stone Sheep in the country. What more could we want – but perhaps some goats, caribou, elk and bear…  

Over the years, our clients and friends asked us about hunts for bear and deer – in Saskatchewan – where we ‘winter’.  We wanted to be able to offer quality moose hunts at a lower price point.  So we started ‘guide territory hunting’ again, looking for wilderness areas, closer to home, with top-quality game.  It was a ‘big ask’.  But, we got lucky. It took a few years, but we eventually found exactly what we were looking for: a fabulous little wilderness camp, just far enough past the end of the road that nobody bothers us – and where we can provide top quality spring bear, moose and Saskatchewan whitetail hunts! 

In the end, we have a small, family-run business that offers wilderness hunts for a wide variety of top quality game. We hope you will join us on your next Canadian Hunting adventure.
