We run a small Canadian Hunting Outfitter operation in a large area (~2000 square miles) in the far north of British Columbia. We offer wilderness hunts for quality big game. At our location on the Yukon border, we hunt some of the biggest Canadian moose, anywhere. You won’t find anything closer to an Alaska-Yukon moose, without going to Alaska or the Yukon.
Our guided hunts and outfitting in British Columbia are all in remote wilderness and done with horses, small boats, canoes and/or ATVs. We usually run 1×1 hunts with a maximum of 2 hunters in camp. Many of our camps are only used for 10 days, every year or two, and virtually all of our hunting is done in areas that are inaccessible to resident hunters. Our facilities are rustic and there are few developed or maintained trails in our area. Most camps are accessed by float plane, and it is very difficult to ‘get around’ on the ground.
We offer a variety of hunting styles (mountain horseback or lake/river based hunts), that allow us to provide different styles of hunt, for different interests and hunting objectives.
We provide remote wilderness guided hunting adventures for Big Bull Moose, Stone Sheep, Mountain Caribou, Mountain Goats and Black Bear. With our expert guiding and outfitting, you can enjoy one of the most authentic big game hunting trips in British Columbia and Canada

Gunson Guiding & Outfitting has specialized in providing top quality wilderness hunting adventures throughout Canada since 2001.
Our Saskatchewan Whitetail territory is unique in that it is a true wilderness camp – there is essentially no hunting pressure, and many of the deer can live their life without encountering a human. Being a wilderness area, the deer densities are not as high as in some farmland areas, but our bucks get BIG.
We are located in an area of prime Black Bear habitat which gives us high bear densities, and big bear. While we are always experimenting with new locations and hunting tactics, we have a core group of bait sites that have been hunted for years– the bears know where they are and come back, year after year after year.
As a leading outfitter in Saskatchewan with experienced moose hunting guides and ~1000 square mile wilderness hunting area (no roads), we provide a full wilderness Moose hunting experience. We get to our hunting areas by boat, canoe and/or ATV. We offer canoe hunts (river float) and camp-based hunts using ATV/s and/or boats to get around. Our guided and outfitted Saskatchewan moose hunts are conducted in the rut, and provide exceptional value for a quality Moose hunt.
We cater to small groups of 4-6 hunters, and will customize the hunt to make it work for your group. Just a 3 hour drive from the airport in Saskatoon, or a ~300 mile drive from the North Dakota border our ‘staging area’ is relatively accessible.

We offer one or two week horseback adventures in the northern Rocky Mountains. Our trips are based out of our mountain camps that we access by float plane. That’s right – you fly-in to camp where the horses will meet you. This pretty much guarantees that you will not encounter anyone from the ‘outside’ during your stay with us.
This is an exclusive adventure for those looking to experience absolute wilderness. We can tailor your trip to your interests, including, but not limited to Wildlife/Wildflower Photography, Backcountry Horse Skills, Fishing, and much more.

Jake grew up with horses, and has been hunting moose since the age of 12. He has more than 25 years of experience guiding in Manitoba, Alberta, B.C., the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. Cecilia grew up hunting, fishing and camping with her family in the Northwest Territories.
We started guiding together in a sheep camp, in the Yukon, back in 1997. We first started outfitting in 2001 with an archery-only whitetail outfit in Manitoba. After several years, we decided to move on to different opportunities; Jake as an Environmental Scientist, and Cecilia as an Occupational Therapist. But it didn’t work – we could not get the outfitting bug out of our system. In 2011, we decided it was time to get back to the life that we love. We started hunting for a remote wilderness guide-territory, with top quality game.
