NORTHERN British Columbia Hunting

HUNT IN NORTHERN British Columbia FOR BIG CANADIAN MOOSE

With our location on the Yukon border, we hunt some of the biggest Canadian moose, anywhere. You won’t find anything closer to an Alaska-Yukon moose, without going to Alaska or the Yukon.

If you just want to shoot a moose, this is probably not the hunt for you. However, if you’re serious about a 55″ class bull, and are prepared for a serious hunting adventure, then give us a call. We provide remote wilderness hunting for big bull moose.

We provide three types of B.C. moose hunting: Horseback Hunts; Lake Hunts; and River/Canoe Hunts. Each hunt has its own challenges and opportunities. It is usually best to call and discuss which hunt would work best for you.

We have a BC moose hunting experience for everyone: rugged mountain horseback hunts, remote backpack hunts for monster moose (you’ve got to be crazy), and lake hunts for those who don’t like horses or are interested in a less physical hunt. Wolf and black bear tags are offered to all moose hunters. Grizzly bear, mountain caribou, mountain goat, or stone sheep tags are available on some of the horseback moose hunts.

British Columbia Caribou & goat Hunting

Our goat hunts, like most goat hunts, require a hunter who is in excellent shape, and who is not scared of heights.  It’s pretty simple.  You need to be able to climb to where the goats are, or you will not get one. 

Most of our goat hunts are straight backpack hunts – you fly (float plane) into a remote lake, and hike from there.  The distance you need to hike to ‘goat country’ varies with the hunt you book.  We can arrange to provide a ‘horseback assisted’ goat hunt, which will help you get to the bottom of the goat mountains; however, you still need to be able to climb up the rocks when you get there.  Our goats are not (usually) found in horse friendly terrain.

Stone Sheep Hunting in British Columbia

Gunson Guiding & Outfitting offers just a limited number of Stone Sheep hunts a year. We have excellent genetics (big dark rams) and a stable population of Stone Sheep, in a relatively small area – we know where the sheep are.

We take a maximum of one (1) Stone Sheep hunter at a time. This insures that every Sheep hunter we take has our full attention – access to the best hunting areas – and is hunting with our best guides.

Black Bear Hunting in British Columbia

If you’re looking for more of an adventure, we offer fall Black Bear mountain hunts. These are spot & stalk hunts in our Northern B.C. area. This is the ‘introductory’ northern mountain hunt – the best value you will find on a genuine BC wilderness mountain hunt.

We offer two bear hunts in British Columbia:
We have a drive in (Alaska Highway) based hunt, where you stay in our one road-accessible camp, along the Liard River. Hunting is done by a combination (what-ever works for you) truck, ATV, and/or boat. We will customize the adventure to make it work for you. $5000 pp, based on a 2×1 hunt.
